I believe the 2008r2/win7 version can multithread up to 32 threads.  I'm not
sure if this results in 32 distinct streams, but oh well.  Maybe Michael is
spindle-bound in his environment to begin with and the metadata/smb overhead
pushes him out of his allotted window.
