NW calculates the %used value by referencing the Volume Default Capacity.
However, on a tape, it will be set to full only under these conditions:
- When NW could not recover from a write error
- When the physical end of tape has been reached
So if you suspect a premature full, most likely case #1 occurred.
The message said that NW positioned the tape to the logical end-of-tape (LEOT =
2 consecutive file marks). Beyond that spot there is no more valid data. In
fact, NW tells you that he had to move the tape 694 filemarks forward (fsf =
file space forward, a SCSI command) until he reached this point.
