Hi Jee,

I'll provide all the facts I can:

The two clients are the same model (FAS3040) and have the same
configuration on the server. Client1 was backed up by a NetWorker Server
7.2 running in Win2003 and I'm trying to recover its data to client2 in
NetWorker Server 7.5 running in Win2008.

Commnads runned and their respective results:

Scanner -m -S ssid <device>

8909:scanner: using '\\.\Tape0' as the device name
8936:scanner: scanning LTO Ultrium-4 tape RJ1189L3 on \\.\Tape0
32350:scanner: adding LTO Ultrium-4 tape RJ1189L3 to pool Bzrnas01 NDMP
29485:scanner: ssid 3019688581: scan complete
8787:scanner: ssid 3019688581: 0 KB (of 9068 MB, 104 file(s)) written
8761:scanner: done with LTO Ultrium-4 tape RJ1189L3

Then in the Server command line the comand:

Nsrndmp_recover -c client1 -s bkp server -S ssid -m
client2::/vol/path/on/client2 /vol/path/from/client1

42787:nsrndmp_recover: Performing recover from NDMP type of device
42897:nsrndmp_recover: Opened the tape device : nrst0a
42690:nsrndmp_recover: Performing non-DAR Recovery..
42617:nsrndmp_recover: NDMP Service Log: RESTORE: Fri Jun 24 14:43:41
2011: Begi
n level 0 restore

42617:nsrndmp_recover: NDMP Service Log: RESTORE: Fri Jun 24 14:43:41
2011: Read
ing directories from the backup

42617:nsrndmp_recover: NDMP Service Log: RESTORE: Fri Jun 24 14:43:52
2011: Crea
ting files and directories.

42617:nsrndmp_recover: NDMP Service Log: RESTORE: Fri Jun 24 14:43:54
2011: Writ
ing data to files.

42617:nsrndmp_recover: NDMP Service Log: RESTORE: RESTORE IS DONE

42927:nsrndmp_recover: Successfully done

After the recover end Destination path on client2 has no data just the
restore_symboltable file.

You didn't provide all the facts.
what is the configuration of the two clients on the server where you are
running the recover?
what exact command did you run?
Did networker produce any errors or warnings during the directed
recover on the CLI session and the logs?
Any errrors on the NetApp filer?
Is the file system on the target big enough for this recover if
temporary dump files are created during the recover?
