Wow, that is amazing, hope the old reel to reel works... 

We do disaster recovery from Katrina, pretty routinely, and that's
almost 6 years old now.   That can be interesting at times, but not too
bad, as the tape technology still exists (lto-2)..  I can't imagine
getting that request 25 years from now.   Of course, that won't be me,
I'll be at my beach house, enjoying retirement..  I hope!

It is requests like these that TRULY get me excited. I guess I should go
work with the Smithsonian or something... Just received a request to
restore data from 32 years ago, that is 1979 woot! That is awesome and
even more so if we can do any part of it! Reel2reel tape...
 
Wow, what backup hardware/software was around back then?
