NMM uses the SQL VSS Writer for backup and recovery, NMSQL uses the SQL Virtual
Device (VDI) Interface . SQL VDI provides the ability to perform incremental
(log) backups and any PIT recoveries, this is not supported via the SQL VSS
Writer.

Suggest you stay with NMSQL for SQL protection for now if you want these
capabilities. If you use only SQL full recovery mode, NMM would be a good
choice.

I have a lot of licenses for Networker Module for SQL. I thought that module
was being discontinued, and migrated over to Networker Module for Microsoft
Applications. Is that correct?

I have a couple of those NMM licenses (according to nsrlic). I guess I have to
migrate my Module for SQL licenses to NMM licenses, and then remove the Module
for SQL, and replace it with the NMM?

I've seen posts here that seem to indicate that NMM isn't as stable for SQL as
the Module for SQL? I'd like to hear of experiences and gotchas, from anyone
who has gone from the Module for SQL to NMM, before I take the plunge myself ...

I have a number of MS SQL 2005 and SQL 2008 servers (some are SQL clusters).
And I'm leery about using a new module ...

Thanks
