Re: [Networker] Upgrade to 7.6 series or 7.5, for Win2008 R2 support

The NetWorker best practice is to not install a new NetWorker version on top of
a previous one (on Windows). We advise customers to remove the software first
(leaving the databases in place) then upgrade (particularly if the NMC server
is also the NW server). Lastly there were code changes made in 7.6.x to
automatically add the enabler code upon upgrade so what they will need to do is
get the code authorized before it expires.
All this is covered in the NetWorker Procedure Generator, we would recommend
you use it to get the steps and requirements that are tailored for your
specific configuration.
Waiting for NW76SP2 which will release soon may be your best bet.

OK! See, that tells me that the Win2008 R2 support is approx the same, in 7.5.x
and 7.6.x, as of now. And that the equality might/probably will change, once
SP2 for 7.6 comes out.
Which would lead me to think that upgrading now to 7.6.x would probably be the
way to go. So that if there are any quirks upgrading (I doubt it), better to
resolve them now, rather than later with any quirks that SP2 might also
introduce.
That helped. Thanks! :-)
One last question - upgrading to 7.6 is pretty much the same procedure as prior
upgrades - install over top of existing, and then be sure to get proper enabler
code from licensing within the specified time period?
