No ideas on the problem, but I'll point out that I'm working a similar problem 
with EMC right
now where I upgraded to 7.5.3.2 from 7.4.5.2 and my NDMP backup of our NetApp 
has also stopped
working.... methinks since 7.5.3.2 and 7.6.1 share "fixes" that they may also 
share a bug.
