Also make sure it's running on a 32 bit windows OS, 64 bit is not supported.  
Or at least it wasn't about a year ago when I tried to put it on a 64 bit os

Make sure you use the nsrvim from NW 7.5 SP1 on the virtual center server.

With the NW 7.5 SP2 nsrvim is broken.  This bug was reproduced by EMC 
support,
but I haven't seen a fix yet announced, you can replace the nsrvim 
binary with the
one from NW 7.5 SP1 (or install the 7.5 SP1 client on the virtual center 
server).

For the backup server it is OK to use NW 7.5 SP2.
