scanner -i update the client file index and the media database.
Scanner -m only updates the media database.
So there is a difference. However, since it seems that both takes the same
amount of time, then the prominent factor is the amount of multiplexing that
was done at the time of backup.
This is a good reminder that, in general, higher parallelisms favor faster
backups, but slower recoveries. You need to benchmark your recoveries to
ensure that the recover times meet your business needs.
