You should consider using an external task manager
such windows native one, control-m, tng, ... to start
your group out of networker scheduler control.
In your job definition, there is a "must be complete"
or equivalent abort feature you can setup to have savegroup
job aborted at a certain time.
In way of aborting backups, shouldn't it be a better approach
to reorganize scheduling/group parallelism or backup setup
for having job done in right time range ?

Subject: [Networker] Backup Window Enforcement
Does anyone know if there is a way to enforce the backup window, at least
for a single group. For example, my de-dupe group sometimes run past 6am,
which is when garbage collection runs. If that happens too many times in a
row, Avamar gets real unhappy with me. So have you guys/gals ever found a
way to make a group stop automatically at a certain time?
