Regarding the bootstrap report I think the best thing is put it in an email and
send it to several different locations. We send ours to several people in the
IT department, to my home email and we made arrangements with our offsite
provider to send a copy to them as well.
The bootstrap report is not very big and you don't need to keep it for that
long a period, especially if you're rotating tapes. You just need access to it
in a DR situation. Make sure you have some offsite copies.

With regards to

Can this be exported to a file rather than a Tape and then imported? If you
have an adv_file type as your backup you can certainly put the bootstrap on
disk instead of physical tape. But that file needs to be replicated and
available at another location or same location for recovery. You would need
clone that bootstrap to physical tape because if you lose the san your adv_file
is on your are in trouble.
