In regard to: [Networker] Directive to exclude a single directory,...:
I am planning to implement the same directive,
The same directive as... ? People that see this post via a mailing list,
which is quite a lot of us, can't see any thread history that you don't
specifically quote in your post, so we don't know what you're referring
to.
but have read about two
items that may cause problems. Hopefully someone here knows the answer:
Where did you read the two issues that you're quoting? I would really
like to take a look at the source, because I believe the first issue
is completely not true, and the second one is mostly incorrect as well.
1. Directives in .nsr files cannot be used when the saveset is "all" .
If .nsr files are to be used, it is necessary to specify individual
savesets instead of "all"
2. Directives in .nsr files override the Unix Standard Directives. If
.nsr files are to be used, it is necessary to cut-and-paste the Unix
Standard Directives into an .nsr file
Are the above statements true for Networker 7.5 and 7.6? If so, how can
I find the Unix Standard Directives?
You find the Unix Standard Directives by launching the NetWorker
Management Console (aka NMC) and then launching the NetWorker
Administrator GUI for the NetWorker server you want to manage. Within
NetWorker Administrator, select the Configuration icon in the top part
of the window and then select "Directives" in the left hand pane, under
your server name.
You can also see the exact same information using the "nsradmin" command
line and curses-based tool.
