In this datazone I'm running 7.4.6, I haven't tried backing up a "physical"
2008 host in my 7.5.1 environment.

Hallo ,
I can understand that there will be an issue related to the VSS and v7.4 ,
but I guess that is not the only
I get this error message from a customer from a win 2008 R2 :
(without VSS use according this guy)
This customer told me that he had setted VSS=off, according received
"indirect" information from a forum , but he doesn't know which one.
savegrp: host.lan:e:\ save was never started
* Probe job had unrecoverable failure(s), this job is being abandoned.
* host.lan:Probe 3 retries attempted
* host.lan:Probe Could not run savefs: The requested operation requires
elevation.
It seems like that ther is a pb in the network/hostname configuration , but i
am not sure.
Thanks
Claude

When we had initial problems backing up a 2008 server (64bit), the
solution for us was to assign a drive letter to the hidden 'system'
partition created when the OS was installed. Once we assigned it a drive
letter, the client backed up without any problems.... Were running 7.4.4
server and 7.4 client for 64bit Windows.
