I have tapes that I set to expire on 10/9/09 as they are set to backup for 90 days. After 90 days, the tapes should be recycled or reused. What scripts or settings control this? I recently updated to ver 7.5.1 and my tapes are not being put back into the usable pool.

I suspect you may have tripped over the volretent getting set to the ssretent instead of clretent of the copy of the ssid stored on the tape....

Try the following command

mminfo -q 'volume=NAME_OF_ONE_OF_YOUR_VOLUMES' -r volretent

If it is not 10/9/2009 as you expect -- then run...

mminfo -q 'volume=NAME_OF_ONE_OF_YOUR_VOLUMES' -r 'client,ssretent,clretent,savetime,name'

and see if the volretent has been set to ssretent instead of clretent... If it has -- you've been bitten by LGTsc24106 (which is supposedly fixed in 7.5sp1 -- or maybe you were bitten by it in a previous version and now the fix is making your volumes go "undef" instead of expired and so they are not getting recycled -- I had that too.
