Not sure about Linux, but on our Win2003 NW server, the server process

dependent
on the server process and will also be stopped..
Indeed, it can be trickier than that even.
There are known bugs on Linux and Unix platforms where the timing of
the startup is "too quick" ... if the NetWorker client and server
processes start in too short a period of time from one another, this
can actually result in a situation where gstd, once it starts, is
unable to ingest group results, meaning that data instrumental for
reports does not get updated. (Which is why it gets frustrating that
there's no way of manually getting NMC to read what data it can from
logs etc to populate group details from previous times.)
In those situations you need to actually insert a 30 second sleep
between the start of nsrexeced and the start of nsrd on the NetWorker
server's networker init script so that when gstd starts later, it has
full access to the daemons.

Preston.
