Security may not be the only factor when determining whether a software
package is enterprise ready, but for a backup product, it should be very
high on the list.  The backup server essentially has access to ALL your
data.  Shouldn't that be the most secure system in your data center?

I don't think anyone would argue with you that it's an annoying feature.

However, security is not the only factor in determining whether  
software is "enterprise capable" ... if we had to tick every possible  
box we'd not have a single piece of software that would be deemed 100%  
enterprise compliant.

Log a case with EMC, have it escalated to product management, push  
push push.
