This depends how you want to use it :
Takes this sample using 2 NIC cards :
1) Active/Passive NICs, 1 IP for 2 NICs. 1 card is active, the second
one wait.
2) Active/Active NICs or Link Aggregation, 1 IP for 2 NICs
in this case, you have 2 Gbits Input/Output but 1 connection
(1 stream for sample) cannot be sent/receive accross both.
In load ballancing mode, you can have 2 backups saving from the client
to the backup server, 1 session per NIC card. MAx backup rate will be
2Gbits for 2 sessions but 1 Gbit for 1 session.
3) Active/Active NICs, 2 IP for 2 NICs
In this case, both IPs must be in separate subnets. To configure
Legato to use lan 1 or 2, client and server must be in same subnet.
Edit then client ressource you want to change and look at the backup server
NIC field. Fill with assigned name of the alternate server nic and backup
will follow alternate lan.
1) and 2) are OS based and Transparent for networker,
3) requires OS and Legato reconfig.
Check also with your network guy to check what your lan switches
support.

Subject: [Networker] More than one network card in the server ...
Hello,
I would like to have some indications about how to use more than one
network card in a Networker server for increasing the network performance.
I'll change our actual server with only 1GBe network card to a server
with "Two dual port embedded Broadcom® NetXtreme IITM 5709c Gigabit
Ethernet NIC with failover and load balancing".
Is only something related to the OS configuration (Windows Server 2008
Standard) or do I need to configure somewhat else in Networker?
Any tips would be very appreciated.
Thank you very much.
