In theory it should be that easy...

However, you will need to be certain that the system you issue the nsrclone command on has the storage node (with the volume for "some_clone_pool" mounted) listed in it's client definition as a valid storage node for it to talk to and that the volume that is mounted there does not already have a copy of ssid xxxxxx on it (even if it is marked as suspect, bad, expired, etc).

Hi

To clarify: I just do a nsrclone -b some_clone_pool -S xxxxxx and then Networker will clone the save set to any storage node, that has a mounted volume in "some_clone_pool"?

Hi Jens

Yes, this will work. You can clone between storage nodes via an IP
network.

Subject: [Networker] Cloning between storage nodes

Guys,

A little challenge. Can I clone a save set on a volume on one storage
node, to a volume on another storage node? - The save set is placed on
an adv_file device on the backup-server, and I wan't to clone it to an
adv_file device on one of the storage nodes.

Networker 7.4sp5 running on Solaris 10.

Kind regards,
Jens Rohde
