Hi,

Our backup / recovery admin moved on to bigger and better things. I was
watching one of the backups run last night and noticed that it was backing up
many multiples of what the file system actually contained. The only thing that
I could figure out was that it was also grabbing the .snapshot subdirectory.
We have netapp storage and use shapshots on these two file systems in question.

I Googled and found the ability to use a .nsr file in the subdirectory in
question. It is pretty simple just:

skip: .snapshot

I'd like to see if it is going to do what I want it to before the next backup.
If I run the savegroup with the -m option will networker tell me what it is
going to do without actually writing to tape? Would I need to include the
verbose option?

Also, it seems that we have some failed backups that are retrying after a
successful backup. Is there a way to query networker and find out the retry
queue (for lack of a better term)?

Thanks a bunch, Kevin
