[Networker] Index / Boostrap saving issue

[quote="Macina, Conrad"]Apologies if I misunderstood the question.
If the bootstrap runs as part of a group and the group has cloning
turned on, then the bootstrap will be cloned. To get it to stop, you
must move the bootstrap into a separate group that has cloning disabled.
The procedure I outlined will do that, but you may be able to accomplish
what you want simply by moving the backup of your NetWorker server into
a separate group with cloning disabled. You can start the group at the
same time as your main group, if that's convenient for you, and you can
run the group on only the days you want to.
You might, however, want to consider running the bootstrap every day;
the more recent your bootstrap the better off you will be if your server
crashes and you lose your indexes.

Bootstrap.
Select the "No Index Save" option for all your other groups.
Select the Bootstrap group in all your client resources.
Make sure the Bootstrap group is the only group using the Index pool,
and the Index pool the only pool for the Bootstrap group.
Once a day or at whatever interval you want to run bootstrap backups,
run this from the command line:

Hi MAacina,
Thanks a lot for ur answer. I think I am sumwat close to my answer. But I have
some issues with this solution. This is because , the first reason is that I
cannot seperate the backup server from this group to another group where
cloning is disabled. This is because this group itself is designed to run only
once a week for weekly full backup. The rest days are skip. And another problem
is that the group bootstrap is also running when the days are skip.
But I think I ahve a solution. But I want to discuss this with u. I have two
groups with same set of clients. They are :
1) Weekly
2) Dailly
"Daily" group is designed for daily incremental backup without cloning. And
weekly backup is designed for weekly once backup and with cloning for offsite
delivery. So is it possible for me to include the bootstrap and index pool tape
to the daily backup pool so that it does not make my weekly group run wen
bootstrap runs.
OR is there any other way to make the Bootstrap run on specific days rather
than every day?
Regards,
kv
