A better option, for more recent versions of NetWorker is:

nsrjb -II

This only inventories those volumes that NetWorker can inventory without physically loading the tape - i.e., speeds up inventory of deposited, barcoded tapes considerably. While only a minor change, I think this has been a great addition to nsrjb.
