There are various tips on how to improve backup throughput on the NetWorker
Performance Tuning Guide which should be on PowerLink, although I haven't
checked for it in ages.

Things to look for: (all on that Linux client)

Network issues (proper NIC settings, NIC firmware current, NIC speed, etc.),
Driver settings for the HBA card,
Make sure any and all drivers and firmware are current.
