Well, this got me thinking, so I dug through some old daemon logs from
December 2004. We were using Networker 7.1, but an older version of
Exchange business suite module.

The only data that was being broken up into 2GB chunks at the time was
Exchange, and that must have been because we had still not upgraded to
Exchange 2000/2003 at the time - we were still on 5.5 (?).

We had tons of Windows and SQL data sets up to 300 or 400 GB, and none
of those were broken up into 2GB chunks.

So, it depends not only on what version of Networker, but what Business
Suite version you were using (which is dependent upon the version of
Exchange or SQL that you are using).

I think it was version 6, but it might be older than that - maybe 5.x or
4.x. The business suite module also played a part in this, but I can't
recall for sure. I remember our Exchange backups being broken up into 2
GB chunks.

It's been at least 4 or 5 years since I've seen 2 GB chunks, though. (I
can say that for sure because we didn't see if during our Katrina
restore, and that was 3 1/2 years ago).

The last time I remember large save-sets being broken up into 2 GB
chunks was quite a few releases ago, like 6.x ???
