To do daily, weekly and monthly backups, we have 3 client definitions
for each client.

Can you explain more about what your backup schedule looks like?  I ask
because I'm wondering if it might not be possible to simplify some of your
scheduling and completely avoid this problem, but I won't know for certain
until I know more about what your scheduling needs are.

I can tell you that we're at 7.4.2 on the server and still have a bunch of
clients that are running 7.2.2, and we're not seeing this issue.
However, we're not running hundreds of skips a night either.
