Hello,
There are changes to how VMSERVER ( linux host) is allowed to backup the
GUEST ( vm guests) , this is implemented on 7.5 platform , please check
the Powerlink for complete information & release notes, but to my
knowledge you will still need to use client based licenses ( & backups)
in order to use modules as VSS snapshots may not be application aware.
Thanks

Networker Avamar - application modules and ESX

Hi.

Is anyone here any experiece with the new networker module:
VMware Consolidated Backup Integration Module 1.1 ?

I's supposed to be able to backup applications such as SQL and exchange at

SAN level. And if you buy this module on one ESX, you only need one SQL
license to backup as many SQL servers as you like.

Is this something worth trying?

Could Avamar deduplication make this even better ?

JK
