I think there is some mixup here... The Networker level known as
'incremental' has a level number '10'.
That means there are actually 11 levels of backups 0-10. Look at the
'Level' diagrams in the admin manual, and replace 'incr' with 10....

It should do differentials indeed, but my NDMP backups ALWAYS end up as
fulls as well, so either I' ve had my head in the microwave or NDMP
backups have an, uhm, issue.
Your settings should be level 1 (assuming an existing full), and you
should have the following Application Settings in the client resource:
HIST=Y, UPDATE=Y and possibly DIRECT=y, OPTIONS=NT, SNAPSURE=y

That is absolutely possible, and there are (default) example Schedules
to copy and modify (if you use the NMC, please disable the Calendar View
temporarily to research and edit, enable to check if it's ok). If you
need some help to create Schedules and retention times that are common
in other backup software packages, let me / us know.
