Re: [Networker] Permission's to run NDMP Backup of NetApp filer

Hello,
If root account is used ( not recommended) then no ndmp password needs to
be generated.
Note: If you change root password, ndmp user password may need to be
re-generated.
If you use nonroot, legato must be configured with it to run successful
backups on the filers ( for each filer client), Look into backup guide
that comes with filer and NDMP implementation info in admin guide for
Legato.
You may also look into this cmd
ndmpd password ndmpuser , where ndmpuser is the account on the filer that
will be used for backups.

Subject
Permissions to run NDMP Backup of NetApp filer
Our SAN / NAS manager wants to tighten down the rights for the account
we're using for the NDMP backups.
Does anyone know (or know of a whitepaper/best practices doc) what the
minimum necessary rights are to keep them running?
Networker server is running 7.4.2 on Windows 2003.
The Filer has connections via the SAN fabric to the tape library.
Let me know what other information would be helpful.
