Have you verifed that the client version is correct for the OS (64 bit/32
bit). This looks like a compatibility issue.

I have a couple of servers that are giving this error when I try to back
them up:
savegrp: suppressed 3 lines of output.
System Writer - Warning: Failed to save connecting dir
\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy12\windows\nvtmpinst
System Writer - Get file attributes returned error 3 for VSS file
\\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\HarddiskVolumeShadowCopy12\windows\nvtmpinst\nvcpl
.chm
System Writer - ERROR: Failed to save filegr files, writer = S
System Writer - Error saving writer System Writer
System Writer - ERROR: Aborting backup of saveset VSS SYSTEM FILESET:
because of the error with writer System Writer.
System Writer - Error saving
39078:save: RPC error: RPC cannot encode arguments
7162:save: save of VSS SYSTEM FILESET:\ to bkupsrv1 failed
Has anyone on this list seen this kind of error and if so what did you
do to remedy this. Thanks.
