Like hell its fixed; They just got it more stable in certain use cases. We
still hit it for certain Sybase hosts on Sparc-III class CPUs (including the
V445), but its not as bad as before. We gave up and mandated it shutoff if a
database gets installed (NMC is using a free Sybase variant btw, like
AlphaStor).

Place this line in /etc/system and reboot:
set ip:do_tcp_fusion = 0x0

We've got a couple T5220 here; They're OK, but the way Sun maps CPUs to
individual thread-cores is making it difficult to use here. So far the biggest
winner for us is the x4600, both in overall speed and I/O (2 Gig/sec sustained
writes). Most of our T-series servers are getting re-purposed as LDOM hosts,
to consolidate multiple Dev boxes.

Your Sol-10 data is not inspiring confidence in my eventual upgrade to 7.4.x -
Right now I'm doing the hardware and OS, running our old 7.1.3 server/SN under
Sol-10 (the big thing here is an upgrade of Veritas Storage Foundation from 3.5
to 5.0). Then do AlphaStor to 3.1 (maybe - we're considering removing it after
the DLT drives get ripped out), then Networker (probably in Jan).

Stan, your system is actually stable on 7.4.1 or is it just livable? What do
you actually run across right now, since when I was at Temple for the meet I
was under the impression that you had things worked out.
