Re: [Networker] VSS message errors

Hello,
I would double check that client2 is using the 7.4.2 client and make
certain that the client definition doesn't include vss:*=off in the Apps
& Modules tab, the VSS section.
As for client3 -- Is there a really good reason to spell out these
saveset names instead of using "ALL"? If not, I'd go with just "ALL".
If there is -- I don't know the answer to your question.

Hello,
I've finally upgraded all our clients to the same version as the
server (i.e. 7.4.2) and I've had some VSS message errors.
First ones were like this:
* client1:ASR:\ 7279:save: ASR:\ is a legacy SYSTEM save set name and
is invalid as a VSS SYSTEM save set name. VSS is currently enabled, so
a VSS SYSTEM save set name must be used.
I've solved them using the new name VSS ASR DISK: instead of the old
one ASR:\ and the same for the others saveset. So I've changed:
ASR:\
SYSTEM DB:\
SYSTEM FILES:\
SYSTEM STATE:\
by the new ones:
VSS ASR DISK:
VSS OTHER:
VSS SYSTEM BOOT:
VSS SYSTEM FILESET:
VSS SYSTEM SERVICES:
VSS USER DATA:
OK. This seems working OK but in a server, when using the new saveset
definitions I get the following VSS error:
* client2:VSS ASR DISK: 7278:save: VSS ASR DISK: is a VSS SYSTEM save
set name and is invalid for use with this save operation; VSS is
either disabled or a VSS license was not obtained.
And, finally, in other client I get this warning:
* client3:VSS OTHER:\ VSS OTHER: No writers found for this saveset:
VSS OTHER:
So the questions are:
1) What's happening with client2?
2) In client3, can we disable this warning without removing VSS OTHER
from the saveset list? (in order to get the backup of anything covered
by this saveset in the future)
Thank you very much!
