Thanks! I am impressed. That field was set to my NMC Server. Not sure how that happened. Now, why couldn't the fine folks at EMC tell me this ... I love this discussion list!!!

Firstly - it's harmless. Nsrd is calling nsrlmc during part of the
startup, nsrlmc is the client side of the license manager.

There's a couple of reasons I can think of for this...

1. the field in nsradmin 'type: NSR;license server' may not be
blank.
2. there's a buglet in 7.4.2...

Fixes:

1. It would not hurt at all if you installed the LGTOlic package - it
would make the message go away at least...
2. check that field in nsradmin - make it blank if its not already.
3. replace /usr/sbin/nsrlmc with a script that does nothing.

Invitation to join the "head scratching"!

Why do I get these errors in the daemon.log when the license manager
is not running? I have never ran the license manager. It isn't even
installed! I have been getting these errors since I upgraded to 7.4.2
(Solaris x86). I also tried commenting out all lines in the startup
script having to do with starting the license daemon. Oh yes, EMC is
 scratching their heads ...

39078 10/06/08 15:54:07 nsrlmc RPC error: Program not registered
12567 10/06/08 15:54:07 nsrlmc lgtolmd did not respond. lgtolmd must
 be started before running nsrlmc.
