You're right - There it is bigger than life in the Release Notes. Dunno
how I overlooked that... I guess I shouldn't do upgrades while on-call.
Too easily distracted. :-)

Thanks.

The enabler code is in either the release notes or the admin guide for
7.4

Subject: [Networker] "Upgraded" from 7.2 to 7.4 and totally confused

About four days ago, I upgraded a small test server (only, not the
clients
yet) from 7.2 to 7.4. This is Sun's "EBS" OEM'ed version of Networker.
Not
sure how it equates to Legato's versioning, but Sun lists it as 7.4, rev
187. I've not yet located where in the mgt console I can find the
'official' version...

Anyway, after much weeping and gnashing of teeth I finally got the
console
server running* and now see there's an alert, "Server is disabled update
enabler required" (which explains why nothing is happening on the
server!). I know what this means and in past upgrades I've been given an
enabler to apply then subsequently authorize. Over the years when we
upgraded from 4.26 to 5.01, 5.5, 6.1, etc., I'm sure we did this (it's
been too many years ago to remember for sure, though!).

However, this time the media kit included no such enabler code - No
white
card with it on it, etc. Looking at the applied enablers under
"Registrations" shows the exact same enablers as I had before the
upgrade,
all still permanently authorized.

Should I have been provided with an enabler? Or does anyone know of any
temp keys? In the past at various times we've received (eg.) 15-day
publically-available enablers for this or that, for which we
subsequently
received permanent auth codes following verification of payment via our
Sun maintenance contracts. That is - I'm not asking for anything
illegal,
I just need to get rolling. I need to figure out how to get this test
server working so I can try to learn the (apparently) significant
changes
from 7.2 to 7.4.

Thanks!!

* Is it just me or is this new Java (ack!) console really as clumsy as
it
initially seems? I never thought I'd miss nwadmin, but I do already...
:-)
