Unless you see something in the release notes or fixed bugs
list that gives you pause, I would probably go with 7.4.3
rather than 7.4.2. We're running 7.4.2 and it's been very
stable for us, but I do know of at least one bug in 7.4.2
that we tripped that has been fixed in 7.4.3.

Mind sharing exactly what that bug in 7.4.2 is ??

Sure. nsrmm exits with an error code under some circumstances even
when it actually succeeded.

We do some scripting with our email-related backups to make certain
that they are unrecoverable as soon as possible after their retention has
passed. As part of this effort, I end up running nsrmm in a loop. I
(of course!) checked return values, and the return value after upgrading
to 7.4.2 was always an error, even though nsrmm actually succeeded. This
was causing the script to generate lots and lots of error messages about
failures from nsrmm that weren't actually failing.

I reported it to EMC (support request # 24295694), they reproduced it and
the fix apparently is in 7.4.3. I never did get a bug # for it, but I
did get a patched version of nsrmm that fixes it.

I'm running 7.4.2 and would like to know what that bug is specifically
in order to determine whether or not upgrading to 7.4.3 would be worth
it if the bug has enough damage potential..

Likely not. It's just a pain for us, because of all the spurious error
messages our nightly processing generated.
