You can get away with leaving the client config at defaults. Typically
you only need to open two ports to the client, but the latest firewall
manual says to open 4.. 7937-7940 it's a bit light on detail as to
what the other two ports might be needed for. It mentions the 'client
configuration wizard' which is something I've never had any use for and
if its just for doing config then it doesn't justify opening firewall
rules for does it?
In theory I suppose if you only allow two ports then it would not be
possible to have more than one backup session at a time (generally
inadvisable anyway) and it may be a problem having a restore and a
backup running at the same time.
I imagine that by changing the client ports config down to match your
firewall rule may change the handling of a port shortage a little more
cleanly in that the log messages might make more sense, the result will
be the same though.
