We've been doing NDMP backups from an EMC Celerra for a while now. I had
a restore request for file from a few months ago. Since the browse
period had expired, I tried to scan the tape's indexes back in, but the
attempts have failed, so I've been trying to do a saveset restore of the
one file. But I keep getting nsrndmp_recover: The NDMP connection is not
successfully authorized on host 'hostname'.
A few things have changed since this backup and this restore attempt: it
has moved to a new windows domain, and the NDMP password has changed.
However, we still regularly do NDMP backups of new data on this data
mover, so I know the new NDMP password is working. One solution I saw
involved changing the NDMP password back to the old one, but that was
for Networker 6, and we're on 7.3.3, so I'd rather not do that unless
it's still recommended.
Anyone ever seen this before?
