I'm using EMC Networker v7.4.2 on Solaris 10 and I've just managed to configure
my one Silo without device sharing and it's working but when I try and
configure my 2nd Silo it completes but when you view the Silo in the GUI it is
"enabled" but not "ready".
I used the jbconfig command to configure the Silo's but I need to mention that
we have a high availability setup for the backup server such that it has a
virtual name and ip address. All services are failed over manually (using a
perl script for automation) from the one server to the other.
There are 2 office sites, JCC and RCC and 2 backup servers bsjccu01 and
bsjccu02 with 2 storage nodes per site (JCC = bsjccu02 and bsjccu03) and (RCC =
bsrccu02 and bsrccu03).
Here are the steps I used when configuring the tape silo...
CLUSTERNODE:bsjccu01:# jbconfig
cannot connect to NSR service on bsjccu01.company.co.za
39078:jbconfig: RPC error: Program not registered
If on a storage node, enter the NSR server hostname? [bsjccu01.company.co.za]
bsvitu01.company.co.za
using 'bsvitu01.company.co.za' as the NSR server
On a storage node, the hostname is a prefix to the jukebox name.
Enter the hostname to use as a prefix? [bsjccu01.company.co.za]

Jbconfig is running on host bsjccu01.company.co.za (SunOS 5.10),
and is using bsvitu01.company.co.za as the NetWorker server.
1) Configure an AlphaStor Library.
2) Configure an Autodetected SCSI Jukebox.
3) Configure an Autodetected NDMP SCSI Jukebox.
4) Configure an SJI Jukebox.
5) Configure an STL Silo.
What kind of Jukebox are you configuring? [1] 5
Supported Silo types for this system are:
1) ACSLS Silo (StorageTek)
2) DAS Silo (ADIC/EMASS/Grau)
3) 3494 Silo (IBM)
Enter the number corresponding to the type of silo you are installing:
Choice? 3
Installing an IBM Silo.
What name do you want to assign to this Silo device? RCCSILO
using 'rd=bsjccu01.company.co.za:RCCSILO' as Silo device name
Symbolic name of the 3494 as defined in /etc/ibmatl.conf? [libmgrc7] Libmgrrcc
Pathname of the STL library for the 3494 silo? [/usr/lib/nsr/libstlibm.so]
How many physical drives are to be configured for this silo (1 to 256)? [4] 10
The drives in this jukebox cannot be auto-configured with the available
information. You will need to provide the path for the drives.
Is (any path of) any drive intended for NDMP use? (yes / no) [no]
Is any drive going to have more than one path defined? (yes / no) [no]
Please enter the device path information in one of the following formats:
/dev/rmt/1cbn --for local path or
host:device-path --for remote node or NDMP device(s) or
host:drive-letter:directory path --for Windows disk file
For every device we configure, we're going to need the silo name as well
as the path name(s). When you are done entering the system paths for a silo
device, we will ask for the corresponding silo name. An example of the name
we need for this type of silo is: 0012500
