Hello,
Thanks Howard, that's what i meat to say, usually on windows routeprint 
will get you the info and other options of adding static route.You may 
have a slightly different version of routeprint on linux\unix.
Check with your network admin or man pate for proper implementations.

The client in question is Red Hat Linux. I am not at all a Linux guy. 
How do I determine what kind of route is in use on that client and 
force it to use the backup server's IP address?
