Hello,
I would give the top 3 vendors a opportunity to present the solution, you
will need to consider. ( IBM,SUN\Storage tek, ADIC, etc)
Do you want in future FC attached Tape Lib, can your environment support
it ?
Can you do remote Tape lib management.
How much is your environment estimated to grow, will the new lib be
expandable without much intervention ?
Will the lib support Windows\Unix\Linux hosts ?
How wil be support and maintains be handled ? by company or yourself ( i
would prefer to have full company support)
What might be the power requirement\site requirement, can you meet them
today or will you need inventment\upgrade infrastructure.
I think the list can go on and on, but think about all the possibilities
and ask plenty of questions then you can make a reasonable decision.
HTH

[Networker] Tape Library Recomendations

Our backup demands are out growing the usefullness of our HP 1/8
Autoloader and we are starting to look at libraries with multiple drives.
I am interested in tape consolidation so I need 3 drives, but don't need a
ton of slots. Maybe 20-30 roughly. Any suggestions?
