Well I do not know how networker will handle that. You could try making
the data zone that has the tape drive a storage node to the other data
zone. Mount the tape you want to scan or write backups too and try that.
You will need a dedicated storage node license. Use a temp to see if it
will work. The dedicated will only allow you to backup and restore the
server the drive is attached too. If you want to backup other clients
you would need a regular storage node license. I am not sure how
networker is going to handle being a server with a direct attached drive
and a storage node to another data zone using the same drive. As long as
both are not trying to use the drive at the same time it might work.

Hi Thierry,

In this case, the local tape drive is connected to another legato
server.  Does this change things and/or make it easier?  I'm trying to
avoid paying extra licensing as it's just an annoyance to me, but not
annoying enough for us to warrant spending extra licensing dollars on
(i.e., my boss would likely laugh at me :) )
