Hi Peter/List

We have been working on a client that has similar problems and is behind a
firewall also.

To add the keepalive setting to a windows machine, add an environment
variable to the machine named "NSR_KEEPALIVE_WAIT" and the value is in
minutes.

Matt

To stop firewall timesouts from dropping your control connections which
are idle during most of a save, set the server tcp keepalive interval to
be less than the firewall timeout...

Typical firewall timeout rules are 60 minutes...

On a solaris server the command to set the keepalive interval to 30
minutes is:

ndd -set /dev/tcp tcp_keepalive_interval 1800000

(you can type it anytime but it doesn't persist across reboots, so it
needs to be scripted at system startup)

On windows there is a way to do it, but I don't know what that is.
