The reason I was doing it this way was due to the amount of data that our site 
backs up in a weekend. I would have to run our clone during a weekend following 
our full. Since this would take the majority of the weekend, we wouldn't have 
time to run a backup before work started on Monday. Also, this clone would be a 
week old at this point. Instead, I run the "Offsite Full" so that we at least 
have a current backup.

I agree that cloning would be a better process, I just don't think I can fit it 
in within our environment using our current resources.
