Kind of a crazy (OK, maybe stupid) question here but ... while cloning
data requires a target pool of type 'Backup clone', is it possible to
back up data from a source pool of type 'Backup clone' to a target pool
of type 'Backup'?
For example, what if you created a file type device, labeled it into a
clone pool, cloned data to it and then backed up the data on that clone
volume to a tape labeled into a pool of type 'Backup'? Would that even
work? Probably wouldn't make any sense to do this, but just curious if
anyone has tried this and/or what the effects or results might be?
Here's what made me think of this. let's suppose you initially wrote the
data to the pool A (type Backup), and later, long after the original
data is gone from disk, you want to get a copy on pool B (type Backup)
as well as have a clone of it. Cloning it to a clone pool is easy, but
getting it also onto pool B doesn't seem possible unless you either
recover to disk first and then re-back it up or if you could somehow do
what I ask above?
