Hello,
If all your name resolutions from client and server are working and client 
backup still fails and you have checked all configurations to be correct 
do the following.
1. Check servers file on the client for correct networker server being 
defined.
2. If backups still fail, try using " server network interface"  in Global 
1 of client setting and specify it with FQDN for the server or IP address. 
( restart networker services on the  client)
3. If you still fail to backup, remove and add the client definition from 
client as well as server and try recreating it  again with FQDN.
4. If the client has multiple NIC make sure proper TCP parameters are 
defined for each NIC.
5.Make sure nslookups and reverse look-ups for the client\servers are 
defined properly.
