Would anyone know the command to get the jukebox to recognize a cleaning
tape?

Tapes being marked full prematurely are often to do with networker
seeing SCSI errors - you don't give any details of the SCSI config,
but if you added that tape drive to the same chain as the other drive
then you may have one of:

* new drive has faulty scsi interface.
* total cable length of the chain is now longer than allowable. (eg 6m
for SE scsi).
* terminator is on crooked, or has a bent pin.
* cables have bent pins or are not plugged in firmly.

I believe you can download some diagnostics software from quantum for
SDLT drives, but it's usually something simple like a bent pin

EMC wont sent any timely support so let's see what happens if I post
this here

I have a problem with SDLT tapes being used for 1 to max 10 % of their
capacity (even if the tapes are brand new)

My site consists of 2 CX500 San's in mirror with a MSL5026 taperobot
This problem started one week after adding a second tape unit to the
robot The second tape unit had initial SCSI numbering problems but that
was fixed withing an hour I am running all this on Networker 7.1.2 and
Windows 2000/2003 servers

Now it seems that the tapes are not fully being used Any Help or idea is
welcom
