I didn't notice it for Windows, but the entire 7.3.x series was a complete
mess for Linux; quite a few upgrades had to be done as uninstall/reinstalls
because of packages being written with "previous" version numbers.
Part of the problem appears to be a shift in naming conventions; e.g.,
wanting
to call new subreleases "service packs" ... so you get say, "7.3 Service
Pack
3" which is 7.3.3, and so on, but that looks then like an older version than
say, 7.3.2, and so on.
Until the versioning is properly sorted out this will probably be something
that has to be endured for a while :(
