I am running Legato NetWorker 7.1 on a Windows 2000 server, but I believe my
problem is on the client.
I have a new client Windows Server 2003, and I cannot see nsrexecd in the Task
Manager, though it says that its running in Services. There is a Microsoft
Knowledge Base article (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/313621/EN-US) that
talks about nsrexecd conflicting with the portmapper in Server 2003's Services
for Unix; and offers a registry hack to fix.
When I run rpcinfo on the client, I get the following results:
rpcinfo -p
rpcinfo: can't contact lgtomapper: Remote system error - Can't assign requested
address
rpcinfo: can't contact portmapper: Remote system error - Can't assign requested
address
So, something is definitely interfering; but I am a bit leery of hacking
nsrexecd's registry entry.
Has anyone else run across this issue? Is there a workaround?
