Re: [Networker] arching to pool instead of saving to pool

Did someone aliases save to nsrarchive ?
Have a try specifying short cmd and full path :
save .....
/usr/bin/save .....
and verify link targets.
Verify also the backup command field of your archiving
clients. Maybe nsrarchive command is filled in.
When you say "archiving", does networker say "archiving"
and writing to a backup pool or to an archive pool ?
Are the manual archive enabled for these clients ?
Is your backup server licensed for archiving ?
If you query the mminfo, does the annotation field
reports some data ?
On 11 years, I never saw such a behaviour ... unless
somebody decided to start backups calling nsrarchive cmds.
for keeping backups archived forever.

Subject: [Networker] arching to pool instead of saving to pool
Hello,
Normal behaviour of NetWorker is to say: "saving to pool"
But we have a backup server which sometimes says, "saving to pool" and
sometimes "archiving to pool".
Neither me or EMC could figure out why?
This is independent from versions, OS type on the client side.
Backup server is: Solaris 9, with 7.2.2_Jumbo (but the problem as been
there even before.)
Anyone else with similar symptoms os ideas around this?
With kind regards
Johan Robinson
