Hello,
Not sure which method of cloning you employ, can you detail it.( i.e 
saveset, automatic group cloning etc)
Generally speaking, you would specify Browse, retention etc via nsrclone 
cmd withen your cloning script, that way your VTL copy would continue to 
have 3 day retention\BP while clones would be whatever you like it to be.
There are alternate methods to acomplish this after the cloning, 
however,they could be more work then what you might be able to sript while 
cloning.
