Hello Kristof,

I am surprised -- this should be very straightforward.

The GUI will remember a "browse time" at the point that it was started
-- is it possible that the same GUI instance has been running since
before the incremental?

Thanks,
_Scott

Incremental DB backup

check the client index and look under the msexch: saveset to see if the
tuesday backup is listed. Check the date and time of the backup and make
sure that it is reported correctly in the client index.

Did the log files truncate at the end of the tuesday night backup?

  Hi All,

We always used to take a full backup of the exchange database ( monday -
friday ).
Because this data has grown a lot during past years , I did try a
different schedule.
My idea was once a week full ( mon ) and other days incremental. (
tuesday - friday )
This way all transaction logs are backed up , then truncated.

So I took full backup on monday , incr on tuesday. So far so good.
Mminfo also reported the info I did expect :

01/22/07 MSEXCH:IS/Storage Group 10 full 70 GB
01/23/07 MSEXCH:IS/Storage Group 10 incr 4660 MB

But when I try to make a restore , I'm only able to restore the full
backup from monday.
The 'NetWorker For Exchange User Gui' doesn't show the status on
tuesday.
Also selecting the 'View Versions' option does not show a trace from the
incremental backup.

Am I missing something ? Anybody seen this behaviour before ?

Thx for your reply ,

Kristof Van den Abeele
