[Networker] Directed recover to new disk
2006-12-15 09:53:37
Hi there,
Would anyone be willing to confirm the following recovery scheme for me please?
Let's say server A's main disk crashes taking the OS and everything with it.
Server A has been backed up regularly with Networker. An identical
replacement disk is available and installed into a spare drive slot in a
comparable server (same OS) which is also a Networker client. Can't I
simply partition this disk identical to that which crashed and perform a
directed recover of Server A's OS and data to this disk? (After mouting the
partitions onto the host machine.) Once the new disk has all of Server A's
info, shouldn't I just be able to plug it into Server A and go?
Many thanks,
Kris
